Bulletproof Coffee and Why It's So Good For You

I drink anywhere from 3-4 cups of coffee per day. That's a lot you say? That's nothing, considering I used to drink anywhere from 5-9 cups of coffee per day. That is until I started drinking my version of bulletproof coffee every day.

The benefits to drinking bulletproof coffee are endless. Bulletproof coffee helps to trim the fat around your waist, gives you energy for hours, helps you have clearer skin, and drinking it daily can actually help curb afternoon coffee cravings. I know what you're thinking, "this girl is crazy, I cannot get past 3:00 pm without my afternoon coffee!" But seriously, if you drink bulletproof coffee every day in the am, you won't feel the need for multiple cups throughout the day. Why? Because the mixture of healthy fats from MCT's (medium-chain triglycerides) with coffee gives you the added energy boost you need to get your brain and body going through the afternoon.

There are several different versions of bulletproof coffee out there, but I feel like my version is the best. I also think you guys will love it too, and it can work as a meal. For example, instead of a huge breakfast (I'm not a big breakfast eater) I whip up my bulletproof coffee recipe and it keeps me satisfied until lunch. My version of bulletproof coffee also works as a wonderful pre-workout.

What you'll need:

Step 1: Add 2-tbs of coconut oil to an immersion blender cup, next add all of your spices-cinnamon, cardamon, nutmeg, ground ginger, turmeric, and cayenne pepper.

Step 2: Add 1-2-tbs of raw honey and half-n-half.

Step 3: Pour in coffee (use the darkest roast possible that you can find, the darker the roast, the better) and blend with your immersion blender on the medium setting and blend until frothy. Your coffee should look like a latte and you can find immersion blenders on Amazon. I bought mine here:

I call this stuff liquid gold and it's the best concoction I've found for putting an extra pep in my step and giving me the energy I need to last me throughout my busy days of photographing weddings and blogging about all things health and fitness related.
