🥣 Pro Tip For cast iron dutch oven chili recipes
Store the leftover dutch oven beef chili recipe directly in the Dutch Oven in the fridge. It's covered, it will keep for a few days, and the flavors really get a change to blend together so the chili tastes even better the next day it's eaten! After three days, freeze in a glass, airtight container and reheat when ready.
🥣 FAQ For Slow Cooker Chili
Does Chili taste better in a Dutch Oven?
- Yes, because the flavors get a chance to blend together and they pull flavors from the cast iron in the Dutch oven which creates a better-flavored chili.
Is chili better the longer it cooks?
- I think so, like I said earlier leaving it overnight in the fridge in the Dutch oven will make the flavors taste even better the next day for leftovers.
Why do you put sour cream in chili?
- According to the Kitch, Greek yogurt and sour cream, avocado, and even shredded cheese are a great balance for spicy chilies, adding a layer of cool creaminess. Scallions and cilantro add a pop of freshness, while sliced jalapeño gives more mild chili a punch of heat. I personally think it makes the chili taste even better!
