USE UP THOSE THANKSGIVING DAY LEFTOVERS
Easy Turkey Sliders are the epitome of Thanksgiving all wrapped up in a sandwich Hey, you could even some stuffing to the spread of your sandwich, I won’t judge you. These easy turkey sliders have layers upon layers of goodness. Made with roast turkey slices, fresh homemade cranberry sauce, pepperonchin’s, arugula, and spices, this is one sandwich recipe that you will make again and again.
THANKSGIVING IS TWO WEEKS AWAY
Thanksgiving is two weeks away. I repeat, Thanksgiving is two weeks away. How are you celebrating this year? We usually keep it pretty small and I cook a ton of food so we have leftovers for a week.
That’s how I came up with this recipe. We are always making loads of turkey sandwiches the next day, but I took it up a notch with easy turkey sliders.
I don’t know about you, but I believe that the only way to eat a turkey sandwich is with fresh cranberry sauce on it. That turkey sandwich is actually what I look forward to most about Thanksgiving. The leftovers are the best part!
LAYERS UPON LAYERS OF GOOD FOOD
I’ve always loved sandwiches. It must be Italian in me, but there is something so magical about a good sandwich. The criteria for a good Sammy is that has to have layers upon layers of good food.
My Easy Turkey Sliders have it all.
What you’ll need:
Hawaiian dinner rolls or even better, bake them from scratch.
Fresh roast turkey (no deli slices here, I’m talking from your turkey leftovers, but deli is good too!)
Fresh cranberry sauce. See the full recipe for that here.
Pepperonchin’s (do it, trust me you’ll thanks me later. )
Mayo (you have to have a little bit of mayonnaise on a turkey sandwich, I don’t make the rules I just follow them.)
Himalayan sea salt and black pepper. More flavor is always a good thing.
MAKE AND SUBS YOU WANT (See what I did there)
It’s super easy to make substitutions with this recipe too. For example, use mixed greens instead of arugula. and mustard if mayo isn’t your jam. These easy turkey sliders will take you less than 10-minutes to make and make really good-to-go sandwiches. If you are super hungry you can make more, and if you just need a quick snack for the road, you can make less.
You could add some white cheddar slices too. Cheddar cheese would just take this recipe over the top. Mozarella would be good too!
These easy turkey sliders keep well in the fridge too so you can easily make them the night of Thanksgiving and have them ready to go the next day. Easy peezy!
Simply place the prepped turkey sliders in a glass airtight container and consume within two days. You can freeze them also, simply remove them from the freezer, let them thaw, and reheat in the oven.
Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I’m excited to cook, drink some delicious sangria, and run a turkey trot the morning of turkey day. I have a fun holiday tradition where I always run a 5k turkey trot. It’s a great way to the dogs a ton of exercise before family comes over and it keeps me sane for family coming over.
Running is everything and I’m happy that I’ve been diligently keeping up with it to keep my mental health up. The other benefit is my friend is also running the turkey trot with me this year so will make it even more special!
Happy eating all!
