Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate is the perfect treat! Made with cocoa powder, orange syrup, honey, orange zest, and homemade whipped cream, this is a delicious hot chocolate concoction! You can easily turn this chocolate drink into a Valencia Mocha, by adding espresso. This drink is similar to the infamous Terry's Chocolate Orange! You could also call this chocolate dessert, Terry's hot chocolate. This hot chocolate with orange drink is going to impress all of your guests!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups whole milk or heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup Semisweet or milk chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar
  • ¼ cup Guittard's Chocolate Cocoa Powder or Cacao Powder
  • 3 tablespoon Orange Syrup or Orange Extract
  • 4 tablespoon Honey (add more for additonal sweetness)
  • Fresh Orange Zest
  • Coffee or Espresso if making this a Valencia Mocha

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together the heavy cream or whole milk, chocolate, and cocoa powder. Add the orange syrup or extract and honey and continue to whisk together.
  • Simmer on low heat on the stovetop and contiue to whisk for 5-minutes until the hot chocolate starts to thicken. Keep stirring to help thicken the hot chocolate. 
  • Stir and remove from heat. 
  • Top with homemade whipped cream, fresh orange zest, and chocolate shavings. 
  • For chocolate shavings, simply grate chocolate on a chese grater

Don't boil the milk as this will cause it to curdle
Make sure you enjoy this chocolate decadence right away! It can savored with cakes a cookies for a real treat.
