These DIY hot cocoa gift sets are a cinch to make! I suggest using a small scooper to make the process run more smoothly.
Step 1: Distribute all of your ingredients on the counter to make to ensure the layers are even and correct in the Mason jars.
Step 2: For the first layer, add the nonfat-powered milk to the bottom of the mason jar. (see exact quantities per jar in the recipe card instructions below.)
Step 3: For the second layer and third layer, add the unsweetened hot cocoa and then a layer of white sugar.
Step 4: Add a layer of semisweet chocolate chips, this makes the hot chocolate super thick and creamy.
Step 5: Finish off the top layer of the jar with a layer of mini marshmallows. Seal the jar with a mason jar lid and add any type of decoration you want to the jar. I added twine and ribbon to my jars and tied a candy cane and gift tag on the handle of the jar to make it super festive!
