Bacon Penne Pasta is the ultimate comfort food, and the best part is it takes less than 20 minutes to make. And yes it tastes just like the classic BLT Sandwich. Made with freshly cooked bacon, arugula, cherry tomatoes, penne pasta, and fresh Parmesan cheese, bacon, and parmesan penne pasta is one recipe you don’t want to miss!
Cook pasta according to package directions. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve some of the water. Will use it later for the pasta sauce.
Step 2: Saute the chopped bacon and white onion together in a skillet over medium heat until cooked thoroughly.
Step 3: Add the heavy cream and pasta water, and 1 cup parmesan to the bacon and onion in a large skillet, and saute on low heat for 5 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken.
Next, add the chopped tomatoes, add in fresh lemon juice, and arugula, and toss in the penne pasta, and add more parmesan and combine.
Garnish with Himalayan sea salt and freshly ground black pepper and serve immediately.
Pasta with bacon and bacon and pasta recipes are easy to make and are wonderful bacon pasta dishes. You could add spinach instead of arugula and make bacon spinach penne pasta. Bacon Parmesan pasta will last up to three days in the fridge in a glass, airtight container. I do not recommend freezing this pasta as this pasta bacon recipe does not freeze well.
