DIY Outdoor Hose and Extension Cord Storage

Outdoor hose storage can get expensive fast, especially when you start looking at retractable garden hoses and large storage spaces for your backyard. I originally started using this simple DIY bucket hack to hide extension cords in my garden. It also works perfectly for storing messy garden hoses without leaving them stretched across the yard. All you need is a Home Depot bucket, a power drill, and a few minutes to create an easy outdoor storage solution that helps keep your backyard looking clean and organized. You can even customize the bucket with paint or decorative covers to help it blend into your outdoor space.

Instructions

  • Mark Your Bucket: Use a permanent marker to mark where you want the hole to go on the side of your Home Depot bucket. Make sure the opening is large enough for your garden hose or extension cord to fit through comfortably.
  • Add your hose or extension cord: Feed your garden hose or extension cord through the hole and store the remaining length inside the bucket. This simple outdoor hose storage hack helps reduce backyard clutter while keeping cords and hoses organized and protected.
