These Basil Blueberry And Peach Vodka Spritzers are a refreshing, crisp, summery cocktail and will be a party in your mouth all summer long! This cocktail is perfect for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend!
THE FRUITY COCKTAIL DRINK OF SUMMER
Memorial Day is fast approaching and no matter how you are celebrating this year, you are going to need a summery and vibrant cocktail in your hand.
This drink is bright and refreshing and the basil, blueberry, and peach is the perfect combination for all of the fun upcoming summer events! Basil gives this cocktail some zest, blueberries are always a good idea during summer, and peach makes everything better.
Sparkling water gives this cocktail some bubbles and happy faces all around!
FRESH SQUEEZED JUICE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN A COCKTAIL
I’m not a huge drinker, but I do like to enjoy a boozy drink of choice from time to time. This fruity cocktail fits the bill because it’s not too sweet and it’s loaded with fresh fruit juice. Adding a splash of lime really zests this cocktail up too!
If I’m going to indulge in a cocktail, I want fresh fruit juice to be the base of my drink. I steer clear from soda as much as possible, so fresh fruit is always the easy choice.
DRINK SOMETHING REFRESHING AND BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE
What I've done with these cocktails is I've taken two summery fruits and combined them into one delicious, crisp, cocktail. This cocktail is super easy to make. All you'll need are fresh peaches, wild blueberries, fresh lime, fresh basil, fresh ginger, vodka, some sparkling water, and ice. That's it! I know some cocktails can get really fancy, but I prefer ones that are simple and use minimal ingredients. I also love ones that involve real fruit because any cocktail that involves getting a fruit serving is a win-win in my book.
MAKE SOME FRESH SQUEEZED JUICE
Now, you guys know I don't usually drink, but every now and again I love a good spritzer, especially in the hot summer months and this one fits the bill. If you have a good blender, you could blend up the peaches and blueberries first before mixing them with the vodka but that first step is completely optional.
If you don't want to whip out your blender for this, no problem! Just take a muddler and muddle the fruit together first. I took a muddler and muddled the fresh peach slices, blueberries, chopped ginger, and basil in a glass.
I used one shot per drink for this recipe. You could add more shots if you want, but one shot is a good balance and will keep the alcohol from overpowering your drink.
ALWAYS USE A HIGH-QUALITY VODKA
A note about the alcohol: Make sure you have good vodka around for this recipe. No cheap vodka! All it does is ruin the drink and if you drink too many (which I don't suggest you do) you won't feel very good tomorrow.
I suggest using Belvedere Vodka or Grey Goose; both are top quality vodkas with a smooth, light taste.
FROZEN FRUIT WORKS JUST AS WELL AS FRESH FRUIT
The other great thing about this cocktail recipe is that you can use frozen fruit too! If you don't have fresh peaches or blueberries you can use frozen fruit, just make sure to thaw it out first so that you can muddle the fruit together more easily.
THAT VIBRANT COLOR IS FROM THOSE BLUEBERRIES
The blueberries in this recipe are what makes the color so purple! The fruit colors the drink naturally as you can see in the photos. If you want to leave the blueberries out you can simply use double the peaches and you will get a gorgeous, vibrant peach color too! This recipe can be made both ways, it's such a flexible cocktail.
I hope you guys enjoy this easy cocktail recipe! Please let me know if you want to see more cocktail recipes up on the blog. I did a poll on Instagram and the results were: More cocktails, please! I would also love to hear what you guys think.
