Chocolate Orange Loaf Cake is a festive dessert. Orange Chocolate Loaf Cake is moist, buttery, made with orange oil, and mandarin orange juice, and tastes like a refreshing dessert. Made in one bowl, this loaf cake recipe is simple to bake and makes for a wonderful breakfast or dessert option.
– All Purpose Flour – Sugar – Baking Powder – Salt – Eggs – Melted Butter (I love Irish Butter, it's the only butter I bake with. You do want to use salted butter for this recipe if you can, unsalted butter works well.) – Coconut Oil (Melted) – Orange Juice (Fresh squeezed from the Mandarins or storebought orange juice) – Orange Oil – Zest (any oranges will do! My favorites to use for this recipe are Cara Cara Oranges, Blood Oranges, or Navel Oranges and stores have these in plenty of stock right now. – Vanilla Extract – Chocolate Chips (Dark or Milk Chocolate Chips)
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350-degrees. Step 2: Line a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Grease sides of pan or line with a paper loaf-pan liner. Step 3: Add the dry ingredients to a stand mixer first. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, and Himalayan Sea Salt. Mix on low until combined.
Step 4: You can use an electric stand mixer or a large mixing bowl for this recipe. I find either way works wonderfully! Add the eggs, melted butter, coconut oil, orange juice, orange oil, and orange zest and mix on medium speed.
Step 5: Pour the prepared loaf cake batter into the cake loaf tin pan. Add the chocolate chips to the top of the batter and add the fresh orange zest. Adding the chocolate chips to the top of the cake batter will ensure the chocolate bakes evenly into the orange chocolate pound cake.
Step 6: Bake at 350-degrees F for 55-60 minutes. Let to cool for 10-minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. Add more mandarin orange zest to the top of the loaf cake. Let cake cook to room temperature. Slice and enjoy! 😋 These slices turn into loaf cakes which are delectable and such a treat!
