Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 quarter sliced waterlemon
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries
  • 2 sliced bananas
  • 3 cups Blueberries
  • 3 cups Pitted cherries
  • 3 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Wash and prep your fruit. Slice the bananas, slice up a quarter of a watermelon, slice the strawberries in halves, and pit the cherries.
  • Using a star cookie cutter, cut five watermelon stars by placing the star shaped cookie cutter into each watermelon slice and removing the outside of the watermelon rind. This should make thick watermelon star slices. This will make the stars on our flag fruit salad.
  • Now we start making our American flag with the fruit. On a fruit or cheese platter, start with the left upper side of the flag, by adding the stars first. Next, add the first row of fruit. Do this in the red, white, and blue sequence. The first row is red strawberries, next, add a row of sliced bananas for the white. This makes the cutest patriotic fruit salad platter.
  • Next, add a row of blueberries for the bue. Repeat this pattern until you have formed a flag.
  • Add a row of pitted cherries for the next red row and repeat this entire process until you have a cute American flag!
  • Fill in the star portion of the fruit flag with blueberries and continue the rows of fruit in red, white, and blue to make your American flag.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top of the flag fruit salad to keep the fruit fresh and to keep it from browning.
