This patriotic fruit salad recipe makes great red white and blue side dishes.
Ingredients For BBQ fruit salad
- Pitted Cherries: Red fruit like cherries are the quintessential summer fruit and bursting with flavor! Plus who doesn't love a bowl of fresh cherries on a hot summer day?
- Fresh Strawberries: Fresh berries are what makes this a red, white, and blue fruit salad. Did you know that strawberries contain more vitamin C than an orange?
- Sliced Bananas: You can't have a red, white, blue fruit salad without the white part like bananas makes this an easy 4th of july fruit salad
- Fresh Blueberries: Blue fruits like wild blueberries are a powerhouse fruit. Blueberries are full of antioxidants and packed with fiber.
- Watermelon: Chop up the juicy watermelon in different sizes to make different sized stars. Use a small star cookie cutter to get this effect. Also, watermelon is super hydrating and great for your skin!

🇺🇸 Instructions For Patriotic Red White and Blue Fruit Salad
Step 1: Wash and prep your fruit. Slice the bananas, slice up a quarter of a watermelon, slice the strawberries in halves, and pit the cherries.
Step 2: Using a star cookie cutter, cut five watermelon stars by placing the star shaped cookie cutter into each watermelon slice and removing the outside of the watermelon rind. This should make thick watermelon star slices. This will make the stars on our flag fruit salad. Patriotic fruit salad.
Step 3: Now we start making our American flag with the fruit. On a fruit platter, start with the left upper side of the flag, by adding the stars first. Next, add the first row of fruit. Do this in the red, white, and blue sequence. The first row is red strawberries, next, add a row of sliced bananas for the white. This makes the cutest patriotic fruit salad platter.
Step 4: Now, add row of blueberries for the bue. Repeat this pattern until you have formed a flag.
Step 5: Add a row of pitted cherries for the next red row and repeat this entire process until you have a cute American flag!
Step 6: Fill in the star portion of the fruit flag with blueberries and continue the rows of fruit in red, white, and blue to make your American flag.
Step 7: Add shishkabob sticks and a bowl of cool whip to go with your patriotic salad!
