IT’S TIME FOR AN ADJUSTMENT
I literally just got done watching the new Bethany Hamilton documentary on Netflix called Unstoppable and I have to say I’m inspired. Just like I was the first time of heard of the infamous surfer Bethany Hamilton.
If you don’t know who Bethanny Hamilton is, first you should google her. She lost her arm to a 14-foot tiger shark while she was surfing at the young age of thirteen.
She’s an inspiration to women throughout the world for all that she has accomplished. Oh, and she’s only thirty now and still crushing huge goals.
The last two months of my life has been absolute hell for me. I’ve lost all of my faith. Recent events in my personal life have caused me to not only lose my faith in God, but also the universe.
I once was a firm believer that the universe guided us on whatever path we needed to be on and that everything in our lives happened for a reason. Well not anymore. Now I’m heartbroken, devastated, and I’m trying desperately to pick up the pieces.
Pieces of what I thought my life would look like now and pieces of what I thought my life was going to be in the future.
Now, it’s all over and I have no idea where to even begin. Any step that I take now could pose a huge risk, and I’m too heartbroken to take any risks. Grief has ruined me and I’m not sure how I will ever recover.
Right now the path is blurry and it’s hard for me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m not that type of woman. I’m the type of woman that believes firmly where there is a will there is a way.
I can always see the light at the end of the tunnel. Well usually. Right now, all I see is pain and suffering and I need something to help guide me towards the light again.
The movie Unstoppable may just be the ticket to helping me get my life back on track to where I know deep down inside it can go.
I need a major attitude adjustment and I need to stop drowning in my sorrow and grief.
Hopefully, soon the wave will carry me through and I’ll finally be able to see that guiding light again.
A REFRESHING AND BRIGHT POST-WORKOUT SMOOTHIE
In the meantime, I’m still good at creating healthy recipes for you guys and this one will brighten your day. My delicious and vibrant Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie is the perfect smoothie for spring.
It’s full of protein and is wonderful for all of those outdoor, social distancing activities. Plus, it tastes really, really good.
GET MOVING TO EASE THE STRESS
I’ve recently gotten back into my workout and running routine hard and this smoothie is a delicious post-run treat!
I trail run and do weight-lift daily, and on the weekends you can usually find me kayaking or rock climbing, well not at the current moment, but hopefully, that will change soon too and we can all resume our normal outdoor activities again.
The first day of using a protein powder with ProHydrolase in my smoothie, I noticed that my stomach didn’t bother me afterward. Normally, when I add whey to my smoothies, I tend to have digestive issues and my body takes longer to digest the protein. However, now that I’m using protein powder with ProHydrolase, I have no stomach issues at all! I continued to use ProHydrolase in my morning smoothies for the remaining nine days and it’s now a regular part of my supplement routine.
After three days of using this protein powder, I noticed my body recovered more quickly from workouts and I wasn’t sore for as long. For example, I recently got back into doing yoga daily in conjunction with my trail running to help with my tight IT-bands. Yoga is a very challenging workout for balance, and because you use your internal muscles when you do yoga, everything is sore afterward. After incorporating my smoothies with ProHydrolase for a few days into my yoga routine, I noticed I wasn’t as sore and I’m now able to hold harder poses like Dancer’s Pose and Half-Moon for longer.
I love that in taking ProHydrolase, my body is better able to absorb protein powder at a more efficient rate and that I’m able to fly through a strenuous workout with more energy and less recovery time. I also love that I can take ProHydrolase in my morning smoothie without adding one more supplement and it’s a healthy reminder to keep my mental health and fitness routine up.
A DELICIOUS AND REFRESHING SMOOTHIE FOR WARMER WEATHER AHEAD
My smoothie is great for spring and summer! I created this delicious Strawberry Lemonade Protein Smoothie that I drink daily and I think you guys are going to love it!
It’s made with minimal ingredients and includes protein powder in it to help with muscle recovery and aide in digestion. Check out the full recipe below.
I’ve used fresh-squeezed Meyer Lemon Juice for this recipe, as Meyer Lemon’s are sweeter than traditional lemons. Fresh-squeezed juice in smoothies makes all the difference so try and stick with juice from real fruit if you can.
All you need for this smoothie is fresh or frozen strawberries, freshly squeezed lemon juice, ProHydrolase protein powder, and Greek yogurt.
Opt for frozen strawberries if you want more of a sorbet texture and fresh strawberries if you want more of a smoothie texture.
