Memorial Day weekend is here and it's unofficially the start of summa, summa time! And officially always time for pizza! I'm currently traveling right now and will be off the grid soon, but wanted to get this recipe live for you guys before I go off the grid for a few days. Don't fret though my friends, because I'll be back sometime next week.
My take on pizza is delicious and epic and oh so fruity! You'll need organic pizza dough (I used store bought) because who wants to be making homemade pizza dough on a holiday weekend? Not me! Check out my recipe video here too!
You'll also need fresh mozzarella and all the toppings. I used kalamata olives, organic pepperoni, and now for the fruity part. I recommend using two types of fresh fruit. Any more than that you'll have soggy pizza and no one wants that. I used fresh organic pineapple and strawberries. Have strawberries on your pizza once and you'll never turn back. I also recommend using blackberries because those would also be delicious!
Nervous about adding fruit to your pizza? Don't be! It's so good and is the best sweet and salty combination that will make your tastebuds sing! You could also get really crazy and grill this pizza which would also be a delicious combination!
Make sure you are using the freshest ingredient's possible and don't over bake your pizza. I baked mine for 25-minutes and it turned out nice and crispy just how we like it. If you prefer a softer crust, bake for a lesser amount of time.
Well, I'm signing off for the weekend friends! I'll be completely off the grid, but I will be back next week with a delicious dessert recipe featuring cherries! Wishing you a safe and happy weekend!
Happy Grilling!
