Why you'll love this Easy Homemade Christmas Popcorn Recipe

🌟 Festive Christmas Popcorn is sweet and salty. The perfect combo!
🎄Ingredients for Santa Munch Christmas Popcorn

What you need for Christmas Popcorn?
- Popcorn Kernels: I made organic homemade popcorn for this recipe, because bagged popcorn just isn't the same. Trust me. Make the homemade stuff, you'll thank me later.
- Coconut Oil: We melt the coconut oil in the stockpot to make the homemade popcorn with. You can use vegetable oil if you prefer.
- Sea Salt: Himalayan sea salt works best for this recipe and gives the popcorn a delicious savory flavor that compliments the sweet flavors.
- Melted Butter: It wouldn't be popcorn without butter. The butter adds a richness to the Christmas popcorn.
- White Chocolate Chips: We melt white chocolate and milk chocolate to really give this Christmas popcorn the sweetness it deserves.
- Milk Chocolate Chips: You can have Christmas popcorn without melting chocolate on top. It's a rule, look it up. 😉
- Marshmallows: Mini marshmallows and Christmas colored marshmallows make an appearance on top of the popcorn. Marshmallows on popcorn is delicious and they should always be paired together.
- Christmas M&M's: Red and green chocolate candies, aka Christmas M&M's make this Christmas popcorn so darn good. The sweet and the salty makes this the best sweet/savory flavor ever.
- Christmas Sprinkles: I love adding Christmas sprinkles to this festive popcorn because it makes it colorful and makes it the perfect Christmas gift.
🎄How to make Christmas Crunch Popcorn

- Step 1: Melt the butter and keep it on the warm setting while you Pop the Popcorn.

- Step 2: In a large pot with a lid, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add 2–3 popcorn kernels and cover the pot. Once the kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and gently shake the pot to coat them in oil. Cover and cook, shaking occasionally, until popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops. Add the melted butter and sea salt on top of the popped popcorn and set aside. Keep the popcorn under the stockpot lid so it stays warm.

- Step 3: Melt the chocolate in a glass bowl over a double broiler filled with boiling water. Once both chocolates are melted, transfer them to small bowls.

- Step 4: Spread the popcorn on the prepared parchment lined baking sheet. Drizzle the melted chocolates on the popcorn.

- Step 5: Next add in the Christmas M&M's, mini marshmallows and Christmas sprinkles. Drizzle more melted chocolate on top of the popcorn toppings and let the popcorn set.

- Step 6: Let the popcorn set at room temperature before transferring to bowls or gift bags. Eat and enjoy immediately!

Pro Tip for the Perfect Gourmet Christmas Treats!
- 👉 Let your popcorn cool for 2–3 minutes before adding melted chocolate. If the popcorn is too hot, the chocolate will melt straight through and turn greasy instead of coating the kernels. Slightly cooled popcorn gives you that perfect, glossy chocolate drizzle that actually sticks.

Yes! Christmas popcorn can be made 1–2 days in advance. Once the chocolate has fully set, store the popcorn in an airtight container at room temperature to keep it fresh and crunchy.
It will stay fresh for up to 3 days when stored in an airtight container. For best texture and flavor, enjoy it within the first 48 hours.
No, refrigeration is not recommended. Storing it in the fridge can cause condensation, which may make the popcorn soggy. Room temperature storage works best.
Yes, choose a lightly salted or unsalted variety and avoid buttery flavors so the chocolate and toppings don’t become greasy.
Absolutely! This makes a great and easy holiday gift. Package it in clear treat bags, mason jars, or festive tins and add a ribbon or gift tag for a homemade touch.
