Why You'll Love Baked Christmas Donuts Recipe
Homemade Christmas Donuts are perfect for the holiday season. Use minimal ingredients and are super fun for the entire family to decorate! They also make the perfect breakfast treats!
🍩 Ingredients for Christmas Themed Donuts

What you need for Christmas Donut Recipe
Dry Ingredients for Easy Christmas Donuts
- Flour: Use an unbleached high-quality flour for the homemade donuts. My all. time favorite baking flour is King Arthur.
- Granulated Sugar: Granulated cane sugar works best for this recipe. Do not use brown sugar. If you use brown sugar, the donuts will not come out right.
- Baking Powder: Use aluminum free baking powder. It's better for you and your kiddos.
- Baking Soda: We use baking soda and baking powder in this donut recipe so that the donuts rise properly.
- Nutmeg: Nutmeg is a game-changer and should be used in all donut recipes. Don't skip it!
- Sea Salt: Himalayan sea salt is a great choice for this recipe, but regular table salt works fine too.

Wet Ingredients for Donuts for Christmas
- Buttermilk: The buttermilk gives the donuts that rich taste and makes the donuts super moist. Nobody like dry donuts.
- Whole Milk: You can also use heavy cream but note if you use heavy cream the batter will be thick!
- Vanilla Extract: I love vanilla extract and tend to go a bit overboard with it. But a little vanilla never hurt anyone. 😉
- Eggs: Two large pasture raised eggs with the golden yellow yolks. No one is buying bleached eggs anymore right???
- Coconut Oil: Melted Coconut Oil works great for this Christmas themed donuts recipe and will make the donuts easier to bake and super moist!
- Candy Melts for the donut glaze: Candy melts are so fun and you can get them in so many colors! I stuck to the traditional Christmas colors of green and red for this recipe.
- Christas Themed Sprinkles: This is where the Christmas decorating fun really comes it. Decorate your donuts to your hearts content and do any designs you want! Fun ideas include: Snowman Donuts, Reindeer Donuts, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Donuts, Star Donuts, Christmas Tree Donuts, or Christmas wreath donuts. The donut-bilities are endless! *see what I did there?*
Equipment for Christmas doughnut recipe

- Silicone Donut Mold: These are so cool and you can buy them in a variety of colors. They are super easy to use and wash well.
- Baking Sheet: You need a baking sheet to place the filled donut mold on. Don't try to bake christmas doughnut recipe without a baking sheet. It will be a disastrous mess.

Prep Step: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). and place the donut mold on your baking sheet. Spray the donut mold well with cooking spray.

- Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, sea-salt, and nutmeg until well combined. Set aside.
