    Gnocchi Marinara is the perfect fall pasta recipe that's easy to whip in less than 15 minutes. This pan-fried pumpkin gnocchi pasta dish is made with fresh marinara sauce, pumpkin puree, fresh parmesan cheese, fresh garlic and onion, and potato gnocchi. This is one easy pasta recipe that will be on repeat in your house!

    What you'll need for Gnocchi With Marinara Sauce: Ingredient list

    • Store-bought Potato Gnocchi ( I like to get mine from Trader Joe's ) or homemade gnocchi
    • Marinara Sauce or Marzano Tomato Sauce Pasta Sauce ( red sauce is best for this )
    • Pumpkin Puree
    • Fresh Basil Leaves
    • Red onion or yellow onion
    • Fresh Chopped garlic from garlic gloves
    • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    • Freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
    • Cherry Tomatoes ( optional )

    🍝 Instructions For Cheesy Baked Gnocchi and Marinara

    Follow these simple steps for an Italian Food Comfort food meal and you'll be on your way to a simple and easy dinner in no time!

    Step 1: In a medium saucepan add the EVOO, chopped onions, and garlic and sauté until the onions are translucent.

    Step 2: Add the fresh tomato sauce and the pumpkin puree and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.

    Add the San Marzano tomatoes and the pumpkin puree and simmer for 10-minutes.

    Step 3: While the sauce for the gnocchi is simmering, boil the pot of water. Add the salt to the water and bring the salted water to a boil. Add the store-bought gnocchi to the boiling water. Set a timer and boil the gnocchi for 3 minutes. You’ll know the gnocchi is ready when it floats to the top.

    Step 4: Remove the gnocchi from the water and add it to the simmering sauce in the hot skillet over medium heat. Simmer the pasta and sauce together for an additional 3-5 minutes. Add fresh black pepper and sea salt.

    Step 4: Remove the gnocchi from the water and add it to the simmering sace. Simmer the pasta and sauce together for an additional 3-5 minutes.

    Step 5: Add the fresh basil and fresh parmesan cheese to the skillet and mix well.

    Step 6: Add the prepared gnocchi to bowls and top with more fresh basil, black pepper, and Parmesan Reggiano cheese and enjoy!

    This entire recipe takes 10-15 minutes!

    🍝 Add-in's for Gnocchi Marinara Pasta

    Add-in's for simple gnocchi marinara:

    You can make this chicken gnocchi marinara by adding in cooked chicken or ground meat like beef or spicy Italian sausage and red pepper flakes.

    Make this gnocchi primavera by adding loads of fresh veggies like carrots, zucchini, and squash. Or make it gnocchi seafood marinara by adding cooked shrimp.

    Gnocchi alla marinara is delicious with loads of parmesan and fresh mozzarella cheese and red pepper flakes. You could also use homemade marinara sauce for this Gnocchi dish.
