What you'll need for Gnocchi With Marinara Sauce: Ingredient list
- Store-bought Potato Gnocchi ( I like to get mine from Trader Joe's ) or homemade gnocchi
- Marinara Sauce or Marzano Tomato Sauce Pasta Sauce ( red sauce is best for this )
- Pumpkin Puree
- Fresh Basil Leaves
- Red onion or yellow onion
- Fresh Chopped garlic from garlic gloves
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
- Cherry Tomatoes ( optional )
🍝 Instructions For Cheesy Baked Gnocchi and Marinara
Follow these simple steps for an Italian Food Comfort food meal and you'll be on your way to a simple and easy dinner in no time!
Step 1: In a medium saucepan add the EVOO, chopped onions, and garlic and sauté until the onions are translucent.
Step 2: Add the fresh tomato sauce and the pumpkin puree and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.
Step 3: While the sauce for the gnocchi is simmering, boil the pot of water. Add the salt to the water and bring the salted water to a boil. Add the store-bought gnocchi to the boiling water. Set a timer and boil the gnocchi for 3 minutes. You’ll know the gnocchi is ready when it floats to the top.
Step 4: Remove the gnocchi from the water and add it to the simmering sauce in the hot skillet over medium heat. Simmer the pasta and sauce together for an additional 3-5 minutes. Add fresh black pepper and sea salt.
Step 5: Add the fresh basil and fresh parmesan cheese to the skillet and mix well.
Step 6: Add the prepared gnocchi to bowls and top with more fresh basil, black pepper, and Parmesan Reggiano cheese and enjoy!
