🍁 Variations For Fall Stovetop Potpourri
🍁Easy Fall Simmer Pot That Smells Delicious
There are so many different things you can add to your Fall potpourri simmer pot. I love adding in fresh Rosemary, thyme, mint sprigs, cinnamon, All-spice, whole cloves, bay leaves, lemon peels, and even lavender. The possibilities are endless for a stovetop air freshener. This makes the best homemade potpourri.

🍁 Protip For Simple Fall Simmer Pot
You can prep this simmering potpourri any time of year by adding the prepped ingredients (minus the water) to an airtight container and stash in the fridge a day before you are ready to use. If you add some lemon juice to the fruit slices before stashing away, the bright citrusy scent will still come through. This is an easy and favourite way to food prep this sweet aroma simmer pot.
Do not leave your simmer pot burning all day. You can burn or crack your pot by doing this and the water will eventually evaporate so keep an eye on it. I recommend simmering your simmer pot for two hours then add fresh water and simmer again. Never leave a simmer pot on the oven unattended.
A potpourri is a mixture of dried flowers, herbs, and spices, often enhanced with essential oils, that is displayed in a bowl to release a fragrance passively, (this mixture is dried) while a simmer pot is a pot filled with water and aromatic ingredients like fruits, herbs, and spices that is heated on the stove to actively release a scent into the air, essentially acting like a stovetop potpourri.
You simmer the combination of fruit on low heat with the lid off so that you don't over boil the water and so that your house smells like cozy Autumn fall season.
